Planning

Planning the Movie Narrative

I brainstormed the idea on the mirror of my cupboard (which acted as a huge whiteboard) and this is how I explained the scenes to my actors. My idea is to show how bullying at home can be reciprocated outside of the home or anywhere other than the place it takes places. Bullies make bullies, and if a person is treated well he or she will reciprocate it as well.

I wanted to show that when an elder brother bullies his younger brother, the younger brother, in turn, releases his anger onto someone that doesn't deserve it.

And when the older brother acts as a compassionate and affectionate elder brother, the younger brother learns the same and is nice to even strangers.

I planned on dividing the movie into 4 sequences:
  1. Sequence 1 - An elder brother gets aggressive towards his younger brother when he wants to play with him, and when he wants his brother to welcome him and involve him with what the elder brother does, the elder brother hates him as his younger brother.
  2. Sequence 2 - The younger brother bumps into a stranger and picks up a fight, and beats the stranger up, despite the fact that it is a complete accident.
  3. Sequence 3 - The elder brother shows extreme affection when the younger brother comes and asks him what he's doing and teaches him how to play games. The younger brother learns from it.
  4. Sequence 4 - the younger brother bumps into a stranger and apologizes, picks him up and brings him home, despite the fact that the younger brother is going out, he takes time to make sure he is fine.

Script

After I was done brainstorming, I started deciding on the script. I asked my friends who would be available for shooting and then I finalized three actors:

  1. Brohi as the elder brother.
  2. Kumail as the younger brother.
  3. Rohail as the stranger.
